Waskesiu is about a 2.5 hour drive north of Saskatoon.

The highway is divided up until just after Prince Albert.

Once you you reach the park turn off, keep an eye out for wildlife on the road. Try to avoid fast travel on this road near dusk.

The RSVP page has a checkbox to sign-up for carpooling.

Accommodation

In the townsite of Waskesiu, there are cabin rentals, hotels, and camping.

Accommodations in Waskesiu can be competitive depending on what you're looking for so you may wish to book early. Some options we know about:

  1. Hotels and Cabins There are several locations to rent rooms or cabins. Many in Waskesiu have minimum booking durations for accommodations, typically either 2 nights or 3 nights minimum, longer for some cabins. Cabin rentals may be your best option if you have a group. For more information see here.

  2. Camping Tenting or RV campsites are inexpensive, and Beaver Glen Campground is walkable from Terrace Hall. It's a good idea to book before March or April. When we checked for 2024, about 30% of tenting sites were still available 2 months ahead of time.

  3. Glamping No tent? Waskesiu has Otentiks available. These book up rather quickly so be sure to check the Parks Canada website in January/February 2025 for the date when booking starts.

  4. Prince Albert Prince Albert, SK is the nearest community with standard hotel accommodations. It takes about 1 hour to drive between Prince Albert and the Waskesiu townsite.

Gifts

Your presence is more than enough! We are working hard to be minimalists, which is difficult because it's against our natural tendencies.

Q&A

  1. What's the dress code for the dance? Casual - sundresses are welcome. We're planning to spend the day outside and Erin is hoping it's warm enough to swim.

  2. Can I bring additional guests or children? We're only able to accommodate invited guests because the hall has a person limit. Let us know if this becomes an issue and we'll see if we have some space in reserve.

  3. How do I enter the park? If you don't have a national park pass, you will have to pay entry fees, either per car or per person. If you arrive during daytime hours, you can do this at the main gate when entering the park. Update: starting June 20th there will not be an entry fee for the park for the summer. See Canada Strong Pass.

  4. How do I find the hall? We can't put up signs due to park restrictions, but Terrace Gardens Hall is at 821 Lakeview Drive, a 5 minute walk from the main beach. Look for the sign out front saying "Terrace Gardens", across the street from the National Park Nature Center. If you reach the golf course, you've gone too far.

  5. Where can I park? Parking in the townsite can be limited during the busy summer season. If you find a spot, there is streetside parking. There is also a large lot near the visitor center, here, but you can only stay parked there until 11pm.

Prince Albert National Park

The park offers plenty of outdoor (and a few indoor) options for everyone’s interests and we hope you have time to explore. We particularly love hiking, paddling, and swimming in the park and surrounding areas, but you may also want to check out the golf course, the nature centre, tennis courts or mini golf...and take a break at Evergreen Coffee, Big Olaf’s, or the Scoop for the best soft serve in town.

The newly refreshed boundary bog trail is a family favourite stop on the drive in.

Much quieter than the main block, the west block (Wilson's favourite) of Prince Albert National Park has a couple of trails, backcountry camping, no cell service, and a chance to see bison (though we haven't seen them there).
